Thinking about Snow, I really would like to either make or buy a blade that would fit the bucket's quick disconnects for our 4100. JD makes a front blade for the 4100, but I loose the ability of raising the blade higher than a few inches. The front blade probably only lifts 6-8" or so. Not to mention, having another piece of equipment to fill my garage. Any insight greatly appreciated:)

I don't understand your comments about not being able to lift more than 6-8 inches. The JD quick attach blade for 400 series loaders is shown in detail in the Parts Catalog for the loaders. It is manually angled. Raising and lowering is done with the loader arms. Is this the one you are describing? ....

No, but I wish it was. That's what I'm looking for. The only one I've seen is in their literature which attaches underneath the unit, similiar to a pick-up plow. Guess I need to call the dealer about getting a parts catelog for the 400 loaders. Thanks for the Lead. ....

I just sent a JD blade back for my new 4400. I wanted to have the option of using either a snowblower or blade. In order to mount the blade I would have had to remove the snowblower mounts including the mid drive shaft extension to the front of the tractor + remove the frame mount for the loader. The blade looked like it would have been really rugged, nearly dozer quality, if I had decided to keep it. I am now considering a loader blade but am looking for some idea has to how well they perform. ....

I thought my local JD dealer told me a front mount blower was only available for the 4100, none of the larger machines. Is this no longer true or did I hear wrong? ....
